Bringing Our Boys Through the Second Decade: Part 1

  • Highland Park United Methodist Church 3300 Mockingbird Lane Dallas, TX, 75205 United States (map)

Whether you have an adolescent son or an adolescent daughter who might be interacting with boys, this class offers vital insight.

The complex interplay between boys’ hardwiring and the social pressures they experience form an increasing hardship just to grow up safely and healthily. This class will unpack how to help our sons through the second decade, including conversation about: brain differences between boys and girls; boys’ social fragility; their unique styles of forming friendships and close attachments; helping to shape their natural aggressiveness, competitiveness, sex drive and risk taking; the value of sports; and roles parents play in supporting their son’s development. This class will celebrate the vibrant contributions our sons can make, with our help, throughout their second decade.

Four brown bag lunch sessions will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church on Tuesdays, October 5, 12, 19 and 26th from 11:45 am - 1:15 pm, Room #3 (second floor, Children’s area) , fee is $85 for the series of four classes.
